Making the World
a Better Place...
Your purchase makes it possible for us to give back. Thank you for joining us on our mission to make the world a better place... one butt at a time. Since the beginning, Spanx founder, Sara Blakely set aside a portion of proceeds to elevate women on the planet.
How we Give Back
In honor of Giving Tuesday, the Spanx Foundation invited female-focused organizations to gather at Spanx Headquarters for a day of inspiration, engagement and giving. Spanx-ters learned about each organization’s mission, signed up to help using their Spanx PVTO (personal volunteer time off!), and selected the charity of their choice to receive additional funds.
I am committed to the belief that we would all be in a much better place if half the human race (WOMEN) were empowered to prosper, invent, be educated, start their own businesses, run for office — essentially be given the chance to SOAR!— Sara Blakely
Center for Civic Innovation
The Spanx Foundation teamed up with the Center for Civic Innovation (CCI) to provide funding to 18 Atlanta-based social entrepreneurs. In addition to supplying a year of wraparound business services, the grant included a personal stipend, leadership development training, and attracted additional investment opportunities for these world-changing companies. To jumpstart this exciting initiative, the CCI—along with a few Spanx employees—joined the foundation for a mentorship kick-off and celebration.
The Spanx Foundation became the anchor sponsor of the Grameen American Social Business Fund (GASBF), a unique U.S.-focused social impact investment opportunity empowering more than 100,000 low-income women entrepreneurs through microloans, credit and asset-building services.

The Akola Project
Meet Brittany Merrill Underwood, founder of The Akola Project. Akola is a nonprofit jewelry company that has employed more than 500 women living in poverty, empowering them to break the cycle and transform their lives. Not only was Akola selected as a Spanx Leg Up® winner, but The Spanx Foundation made a $100k impact investment into this amazing company in order to grow the business and the good they do!
The Malala Fund
Together, we are stronger than those who deny girls the right to education. The Spanx Foundation donated $150,000 to support The Malala Fund because we believe that investing in girl’s education is good for the planet.
More than 130 million girls are out of school
The PowHERful Foundation gets women to, and through, college by providing financial services, mentorship and wraparound services to help young women reach her full potential, and in turn create a ripple effect throughout her family, friends, and community. The Spanx Foundation was proud to team up and host 150 young women at the Spanx HQ for first ever PowHERful Enrichment Summit in Atlanta.
