I purchased this to wear under shorter dresses since the mid thigh I have (and love!) is too long. I was really disappointed. Did not do much to smooth out my tummy or sides and the top of thong cut into my hips which would be super noticeable under form fitting dresses. I will return.

I ordered these along with the mid-tummy lace thong and the thong shaper with hidden lace and both the other items showed vpl and the lace showed through the fabric of three dresses I tried them with (all sheath dresses).
THIS however did not cause a bulge at the top of the bum, and the smooth fabric looked much better under my slim-fitting dresses. The seam that runs down the ribs can be slightly seen, but I find a few of my dresses have this seam anyways. the 'X's at the sides are not visible, and even though it's mesh through the sides, it really does seem to hold in my 'side bulges'. I have an athletic body type and for me, the problem area is my side abs (love handles) when I gain a little weight, and they are visible with tight dresses. I felt this product worked the best out to all three that I tried. I may order in nude if I need it for a white dress in the future.
The only negative comment is that the boning (seams actually) that runs down the center of the ribs can bunch. I remedied this by folding the top seam over once and it took care of it. I'm only 5'3", so it may not be an issue for someone taller. It also comes with straps that can attach to your bra, but I can't see myself bothering with that. I'll just roll it down once and if need be for any special occasion, use some double-sided dressing tape to be 100% sure there's no movement .
Overall, I think these are going to be exactly what I needed to polish up my look a little when I've been slacking on going to the gym and not quite eating right.
Highly recommend these if you're looking to smooth out your sides and create a more toned waist.
