I have lost over 68 lbs and these shorts are perfect for hiding bulges, smoothing trouble spots and keeping it all together as I run, workout, and recover. The high waist is perfect for smoothing and eliminating bulges in my abdominal area. This and the longer leg lengths are not found in any other brands that I have seen which makes Spanx the leader of the pack for compression gear! I have the tiniest bit of a belly and most shorts sit just below it and emphasize it. These cover and hold it in with out being to high. They have just the right level of compression with a full range of motion. I was wary about ordering workout gear from Spanx but these really are perfect and I'm going to order 2 more pairs along with the girl shorts and the pants. I'm 5'9", 150 lbs and the XL fit me perfectly. February 21, 2013
