Personally, the mid-thigh type shapers cause a visible ridge or line; with these ending below the knee, no worries at all. And when I want to wear pant socks, lapping them over the tops of the socks helps keep socks in place. My only complaint: Target rarely ever has them in stock, and I just don't understand why.
