Rated 2 out of 5 by lotusflowermama NO fat on your thighs? NOT wearing under pants? Then this MIGHT work for you!!
I'm an athletic build, 5' 2.5", 118 lbs, but am not as tight as I'd like to be (at 44, things heading south, a little more jiggly), so I bought these to go under some Athleta-brand pants that are kind of like a jersey fabric (but not tight). Well, these were NOT good! I think the butt was probably good (made me feel nice and firm - yay), but where the short ended on my thigh (and I do NOT have a lot of extra fat or skin, just some), the bulge was evident, and you could TOTALLY see the line under the pants (and, again, they were not clingy pants)! Plus, as other reviewers stated, NOT having any kind of edging look and feels cheap, and doesn't look like it'll stand up to much wearing (or even just a few). I have an older pair of Spanx that I bought about 5 years ago (couldn't tell you which ones, but they're very similar to these, just a little heavier-weight), and those are way better-made and work better, too! So, I'll stick with those! Maybe the fault lies with these intending to be lightweight, and that's why they feel this way, but no thanks. Sending back.

I was disappointed in the Skinny Britches short. After a few hours of wear, the waistband begins to feel very tight and constrictive. I'm very average and do not have a big waist. I could see a "panty line" across my thighs through my jeans, too, which was kind of embarrassing, like I was wearing a tight girdle. A quick stop in the airport ladies room and the entire waistband ripped, leaving a big gaping hole I had to put up with until I could finally change clothes.
Not comfortable and not durable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LaLaLucy The quality of the more recent briefs is not as good as the old ones
I too experienced rips in the crotch after only a few washings and was disappointed.
I actually liked the original material better and it is longer lasting.

Seriously, I have to disagree with some of the other reviewers. These shapers are great. I've worn and washed many times (I even put these into the dryer on delicate) and they are outstanding. I have two pair and they are worth every penny. Yes, they do feel a bit small...but I want to feel tucked and tight, don't you?

Rated 4 out of 5 by PantWearer02 Great but too short
I love the light-weight, slippery fabric. I can wear these in the summer and my pants slide easily up over them instead of sticking to the fabric (like with panty hose). The only problem is that I wear them underneath dress pants and they are too short, so I get a bulge on my quad. They bulge is somewhat hidden on darker pants, but really shows up under light-colored fabric. They also tend to ride up. They would be my ideal product under pants if they were just a few inches longer . . .

I was so excited to get them. However, they were so uncomfortable that I sent them back. Maybe the longer and higher one would have been better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Shannah Great for summer but new design?
I have a few pairs of skinny britches that I purchased last year and the year before that I really liked. They did start to wear and get holes in them after many wearings but after a reasonable amount of time, I would say. The design seems to have changed this year and seems sturdier (and also more expensive). I think they are also a bit longer which can be a tiny bit problematic for shorter skirts. I still recommend them and always wear skinny britches under my summer dresses and skirts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ruby16 Just what I was looking for.
The Skinny Britches Short was just what I was looking for all day wear. They are easy to wear, just pull them on under a skirt and they give you smoothing a some slimming but not too constrictive for wearing all day.
