“The Leg Up Award propelled O-Venture forward in a Big O way! We are now in 31 states and have met countless SPANX fans who were introduced to our products as a result of the O-mazing exposure we received from SPANX.

We are grOwing! This fall, we are O so excited to introduce Big O Key Rings in embossed leathers and fur along with new Occessories, which include Ossential Card Cases in two sizes, the cross body pOcket and the O-Boy money clip.

We are constantly reminded to pay it forward, as Sara Blakely continues to do, encouraging and supporting other women every step of the way. A Big O thank you to all of our friends at SPANX for helping us give women an extra hand and launching the O-bsession nationwide!”

The Frank

“We’re excited to announce our new pattern launching in the next couple weeks…‘the Frank’. It’s named after an outstanding soldier and friend and honors the men and women serving our country. The back-story is it’s our ecommerce manager’s husband who has been deployed to Afghanistan. The hope is that the pattern can be used as fundraisers for military wives and F.R.G. (family readiness groups). I JUST received samples today!”

Business startup students in Karogoto, Kenya

“I just got back from a trip to Karogoto, Kenya where my primary goal was to teach women in the community about business. A year ago, I visited this community and saw a need for education that inspired the launch the Karogoto pattern with Well-Kept. Proceeds from this colorful pattern are funding the first ‘business start-up’ education program for the community.

We are releasing a new pattern this holiday and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to business start-up education and seed funding for a village in Kenya. I visited this community earlier this year and know the people it will be funding. I’m really excited…it’s Well-Kept’s way of giving women a Leg Up®!

“Winning the Leg Up promotion gave me the push I needed to open a new retail showroom and studio in Cape Charles, a small beach town near my home on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. Since then I’ve hired 4 new part-time employees and our average monthly revenues have increased over 150%.”

“We had such a wonderful and overwhelming response to our Leg Up win in all aspects of our business. Our fourth quarter revenue following the announcement was 26 times that of the previous year and our web traffic increased more than threefold – 80% of which were new visitors. We added hundreds of fans on our social media pages. In addition, we were able to get our foot in the door and ultimately partner with several large national accounts to provide custom reusable gift wrap using their logos to promote and market their brands.”

On the morning of the Leg Up® announcement I was on a plane to Guatemala to visit and work with my indigenous artisans. It was so symbolic for me to be traveling to see them on the same day because, as my partners, they are also Leg Up winners. I was able to share the exciting news with them in person and it was really a sweet moment. Since the announcement, the response has been amazing…sales have increased 110% and I have had two interviews because of the award! Looks like I will be boarding another plane to Guatemala very soon!
